Opus One 2010 – the epoch-making vintage

Opus One has always been a wonderful wine, since Baronne Philippe de Rothschild andOpusOne2010.jpg Robert Mondavi created what was the USA’s first premium fine wine back in 1979.

Today, Opus One remains one of the Napa Valley’s leading producers, combining traditional techniques in the vineyards with a state-of-the-art winery and cellars. The 2010 vintage is a benchmark Napa Valley Bordeaux inspired blend, which is now coming very much into its own.

“Over the last ten or more years, the administration at Mouton Rothschild, particularly the team led by Philippe Dhalluin, has truly pushed the level of quality to the point where this is clearly one of the great wines of Napa…” Robert Parker

“Explosive throughout…Readers who can be patient will be rewarded with a fabulous wine, but the 2010 is pretty hard to resist, even today. This is yet another terrific showing from the 2010.” Antonio Galloni

“..a beautifully knit, full-bodied red blend…displaying lots of spicy black currant fruit, medium to full body, velvety tannins, and not a hard edge to be found. The texture, length and richness are all impressive…” Robert Parker
